1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT...One very notable highlight set to cross the block in Arizona on January 21st is the 1963 Aston Martin DB4 GT, chassis 0175/L. Built between 1959 and 1963, just 75 DB4 gts were ever assembled, plus another 19 Zagato-bodied variants. Of these 75 cars, only six are known to have full Factory Lightweight construction details. Chassis 0175/L is the last of these six cars and the very last DB4 GT to be dispatched from Aston Martins Newport Pagnell works. Exceptionally rare, this car is perfect for such long distance events as the Colorado Grand or any of the major historic racing events around the world, including the numerous Aston Martin Owners Club Championship race meetings. Computerhistory.org has a Model B dated 1965, and I've seen a ~1967 Model C written up in a magazine. (Interestingly, incorrectly identified as being only 110 baud.) Even better than seeing it in a museum, I decide to hook the trusty Model A up and make it talk to something. After some trial and error, I manage to get it to talk to a terminal server at work and use it to connect to a linux box. It's ALIVE! So, 45 years after it's creation, this antique modem gets to send data to and from the modern Internet. Enjoy! - KC
